Drought Declared Across North Wales

Natural Resources Wales declared drought status across North Wales and the Upper Severn as hot, dry weather, rising wildfire risk, and record-low river flows persist, affecting areas including North Gwynedd, Ynys Môn, South Gwynedd, Dee (Wales), and Clwyd. With July on track to be Wales’ driest in about 190 years, groundwater levels are falling and river temperatures are high, while officials urge waterwise use as the region moves into prolonged dry conditions.
