Capitals Sign Oliver Suvanto to Three-Year ELC

The Washington Capitals signed 17-year-old Finnish forward Oliver Suvanto to a three-year entry-level contract with a $1.075 million NHL cap hit and $87,500 in the AHL, with plans to loan him to Tappara for the 2026-27 season. The 18th overall pick in the 2026 draft is Capitals’ first Finnish first-rounder in two decades, coming off an 11-point Liiga season and strong World Junior performances as they aim to develop him for North American pro hockey.
