Airtel Africa Q1 profits rise to $198 million

Airtel Africa’s Q1 2026 revenue climbed 31% to about $1.853 billion, with profit after tax rising to about $198 million as mobile services and mobile money drove growth and the customer base expanded to 189 million. Basic EPS reached 4.4 cents, and the company cited strong data usage and margin expansion amid energy cost pressures.
