West Bengal launches Bidyut Prahari to curb theft

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari launched the Bidyut Prahari mobile app to report electricity theft, hazards, and related issues with complaint tracking and reporter anonymity, while asserting zero tolerance for theft and unpaid factory bills alongside a humane approach for households with pending dues. He also announced reforms to recruitment in the Electricity Department to be routed through the Public Service Commission.
