U.S. Workers Stay in Jobs for Health Insurance
A West Health-Gallup Center on Healthcare in America study finds about 24% of U.S. workers stay in unwanted jobs to keep employer-sponsored health insurance, roughly 23 million people, marking an eight-point jump since 2021. The problem is worse for those with medical debt or chronic conditions and is raising concerns that health-cost fears are dampening mobility, productivity, and economic growth.
