Real Madrid Demands Tebas Resign From Both Posts
Real Madrid has demanded that LaLiga president Javier Tebas resign as league chief and as vice-president of the Spanish football federation after he said the club’s media strategy recalled propaganda techniques used by Nazi official Joseph Goebbels. Tebas said he was comparing methods, not ideology, while Madrid called the remarks intolerable and said he lacked the neutrality required by his roles. The dispute is part of a wider conflict over refereeing, football governance and the Negreira case, involving Barcelona’s payments to a former refereeing official; Madrid has criticized authorities’ response and called for transparency and refereeing reform. Tebas has rejected Madrid’s accusations, challenged the club to provide evidence and accused it of undermining LaLiga. Barcelona president Joan Laporta has backed Tebas and accused Madrid of seeking to damage LaLiga and its refereeing bodies.
