Colorado QB Julian Lewis hospitalized after medical emergency

Colorado quarterback Julian Lewis suffered a medical emergency at the team's athletic facility Wednesday and was taken to the hospital. Father T. Carlton Lewis said Thursday on X that he is recovering and thankful to his medical team, teammates, and Colorado fans. He asked for privacy and said the family would have no further comment. Colorado issued a statement of full support. Lewis was listed as doubtful on the Big 12 availability report Wednesday night. Wide receiver Joseph Williams posted "Praying for you 10 I love you man God has your back twin" and wrote that athletes' mental health matters, saying people judge without knowing what players go through. Lewis, a sophomore, started the first four games before being benched at Baylor on Sept. 26; Isaac Wilson has started since and is 0-3. Outlets report 733 passing yards on 64% completions but differ on touchdowns and turnovers: some list six TDs and two interceptions, others seven total TDs and three turnovers. Deion Sanders said earlier "That's on him" and declined to discuss the QB competition: "I don't want to go down there. You guys do your homework." No cause was disclosed. Colorado (2-5) hosts Kansas State on Saturday.
