Chiefs Receiver Targets Floated Ahead of Trade Deadline

Kansas City is facing offensive struggles and receiver availability and production concerns as the November 10 trade deadline approaches. The Chiefs brought rookie Jacob De Jesus back to their practice squad, while commentators and reports floated Colts receiver Josh Downs, Cowboys receiver George Pickens and Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr. as possible trade targets; no such trades had been reported as completed. Former Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu said Pickens could give Patrick Mahomes a needed downfield target and help restore the offense’s swagger, while Jon and Jay Gruden pointed to Thomas as a potential source of explosive plays. Rod Woodson described Mahomes as a “vehicle” for the Chiefs’ offense, amid debate about the quarterback’s role in the team’s struggles.
