Tesla Schedules October 1 Reveal for Long-Delayed Roadster

Tesla says it will reveal the second-generation Roadster on October 1, nine years after unveiling the prototype and repeatedly delaying production. A “Go for launch” teaser and countdown appear to reference the long-promised SpaceX package, whose cold-gas thrusters could enable a brief lift-off or exceptionally rapid acceleration; reports suggest a remotely operated demonstration vehicle and separate flying and road-legal versions. The event is reportedly planned for Waco, Texas, although Tesla has not publicly detailed its format or confirmed the specifications. Tesla has previously promised a sub-two-second 0–60 mph time, a top speed above 250 mph, about 620 miles of range and a $200,000 starting price, but production may not begin until 2027 or later.
