Thanksgiving Turkey Events Set Across Four Communities

Communities are preparing for Thanksgiving with local races and holiday food assistance. Mercer County’s Turkey Trot on Nov. 26 offers a timed 5K and a one-mile walk, with proceeds supporting local food banks and pantries. Greensburg’s 35th annual Thanksgiving 5K run and walk will loop through downtown, with a children’s 5K option; the event draws more than 2,000 participants each year. The Kirkwood-Webster Turkey Day Run returns Nov. 26 with three- and six-mile races, as well as a virtual option. In Augusta, families can register in advance for the James Brown Turkey Giveaway, scheduled for Nov. 23, with organizers anticipating strong demand.
