The 2026 GHSA softball championships produced three Northwest Georgia title winners: Gordon Lee beat Vidalia 5-4 in Class AA on a seventh-inning walk-off, Sonoraville shut out Appling County 2-0 in Class AAA, and Trion defeated Wheeler County 6-2 to win its first Class A championship. Trion finished its postseason with 15 consecutive victories, led by sophomore pitcher Hartley Staton, who struck out 15 in the championship game. South Effingham, Appling County and Vidalia finished as state runners-up in Classes 6A, AAA and AA, respectively, after close championship games.

Colorado Releases Fall Sports Rankings for Postseason Seeding

CHSAA also released Oct. 12 fall-sports rankings, including weekly top-10 lists for boys soccer, football and field hockey, which help determine postseason qualification and seeding.
