President Tinubu has urged Nigerian medical professionals abroad to return home to help transform the country’s healthcare system under the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing that Nigeria needs the knowledge, innovation, and experience of its diaspora. He highlighted his own return from overseas work as a model and stressed that there is nowhere like home, urging professionals to contribute to primary healthcare, medical education, research, and digital health infrastructure. The appeals were made during meetings with delegates from the Nigerian Diaspora Medical Associations led by Abike Dabiri-Erewa of NiDCOM, in the context of National Diaspora Day 2026. Tinubu also called on those abroad to persuade colleagues to come back, promising an enabling environment for practice and sustained development.
