Joint Task Force North East HADIN KAI and the Yobe State Hunters Group led a coordinated raid in Jegalari village, Fune Local Government Area, Yobe State, on July 23, 2026, resulting in the arrest of five suspects linked to kidnapping activities. Authorities recovered three locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, a locally made pistol, ammunition, and multiple mobile phones connected to the suspects’ activities. The five individuals, Hassan Lawan, Isah Bello, Haruna Suleiman, Ibrahim Bello, and Ahmadu Haruna, aged 19 to 30, identified themselves as Fulani cattle rearers from Ririn Village in Kano State. The suspects and the seized items have been placed in military custody for further investigation to determine their roles in kidnapping and other crimes. The operation underscores ongoing intelligence-driven efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to dismantle kidnapping networks across the North-East and neighboring states, as security forces maintain heightened vigilance. Local security has been reported as calm, with officials urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
