The drivers involved reported harassment and wrongful vehicle seizure, prompting actions to ensure the release of detained vehicles and to address harassment of transporters. The Anti-Corruption Branch has also initiated a criminal inquiry into the matter, with the case referred for thorough investigation and legal action where appropriate. The government affirmed its commitment to an transparent, corruption-free administration and to disciplinary measures for any official found engaging in extortion or abuse of power.
