UCF QB Barnett Expected Out Multiple Weeks

UCF starting quarterback Alonza Barnett III is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering a significant hamstring injury late in the Knights’ 12-7 loss at Pittsburgh. Barnett was injured while scrambling on UCF’s final possession and is likely to miss Saturday’s game against Georgia State as well as the Sept. 26 Big 12 opener against TCU. Keyone Jenkins is expected to start in his place. Barnett, a prominent transfer from James Madison, completed 63.3% of his passes for 344 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in UCF’s first two games.
