USC Freshman Mosley Leads Nation in TD Catches
USC freshman wide receiver Trent Mosley has made an immediate impact, catching 11 passes for 222 yards and three touchdowns in his first two games. His production has helped the No. 14 Trojans’ high-powered offense and established an early connection with quarterback Jayden Maiava, prompting predictions that Mosley could reach 1,000 receiving yards this season. Coach Lincoln Riley credits Mosley’s intelligence, preparation, focus and ability to quickly apply coaching for his unusually mature start. Mosley’s family says those traits reflect a lifelong commitment to the “Five Ps”—proper preparation prevents poor performance—reinforced through academics, daily discipline and years of studying football. Mosley has emphasized relying on his training and continuing to improve as he takes on a larger role following the departure of star receiver Makai Lemon.
