Veteran Hiring Day Sparks Nationwide Job Fairs
Multiple veteran-focused events highlight ongoing efforts to connect service members, veterans and families with employment, resources and recognition. In Tacoma, National Hire-a-Vet Day featured a job and resource fair organized by YesVets, with remarks from state officials and a showcase of 2,651 participating employers that have helped hire nearly 10,000 veterans. Fort Hood and other Army & Air Force Exchange Service locations world-wide are hosting hiring events around National Hire a Veteran Day, offering on-the-spot interviews, résumé help and skills translation for service members and their families. In Canandaigua, the VA Medical Center hosts the Freedom 250 event on July 29 to connect attendees with essential resources tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary. Nevada-focused coverage includes Veterans Voice programming and community announcements about the VA Freedom 250 Virtual Exhibit, SBA veteran-entrepreneur resources and VA Life Insurance options to support veterans and their families. Together, these pulls illustrate a broad, multi-channel effort to translate military service into post-service opportunities and support.
