Arsenic Found In 28 Halloween Candies
Arsenic Found In 28 Halloween Candies 🍬 DESCRIPTION: Florida tested 46 Halloween favorites and says 28 contained arsenic, a toxic element linked to cancer. Its highest Jolly Rancher result was 540 parts per billion in Sour Apple. The state says kids should eat no more than six of them a year. It also flagged Nerds Grape at 380, Original Skittles at 370 and Snickers at 350. The results are disputed. Florida used a soil testing method that measures total arsenic and can’t separate the toxic form from the far less harmful one. An independent lab, Lead Safe Mama, found no detectable arsenic in Green Apple Jolly Ranchers. The candy industry’s trade group says candy is safe and that FDA testing has found much lower levels. Florida says its limits are deliberately strict. Thanks for watching.
