Trump says he and tech leaders renamed AI 'Super Intelligence'
President Trump signed an executive order Tuesday directing federal agencies to use Super Intelligence instead of artificial intelligence after a summit with tech leaders.

A Fox News TikTok posted Tuesday under the headline “BREAKING: President Trump says that he and tech leaders have officially changed the name of AI to ‘Super Intelligence.’” The 40-second clip, from the channel @foxnews, has drawn 5.3 million views, 327,700 likes and 7,504 comments this week and is trending on TikTok’s U.S. chart.
President Donald Trump told reporters at a White House lunch that day he would sign a document renaming the technology. “We’re going to be signing a document today at about 5 o’clock, renaming artificial intelligence because it’s not artificial, we all agree on that, and we’re going to be renaming it ‘super intelligence,’ officially renaming it, and that’ll come out at 5 o’clock today,” he said, according to reporting on the remarks. He spoke while flanked by tech executives that included Elon Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other industry leaders. House Speaker Mike Johnson, Vice President JD Vance and White House officials were also present, reports said.
Trump signed the executive order Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, after the lunch and summit. The order directs federal agencies to use “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in official correspondence, websites, reports and policy documents. It further directs agencies to “no longer acknowledge” the terms “artificial intelligence” and “AI,” according to the White House account carried in coverage of the signing. The assistant to the president for science and technology was given 60 days to determine a federal definition of “super intelligence.” The signing took place at about 5 p.m. The document was dubbed the White House Accord on Super Intelligence. Coverage listed signatories that included Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, Zuckerberg, OpenAI’s Greg Brockman, Musk and Huang, along with others named among the attendees such as Palantir’s Alex Karp and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos.
Trump described the executives’ view of the accord in blunt terms. “They almost viewed it as a separate kind of constitution,” he said. “When they signed that, it meant a lot.” Johnson told reporters the text set out voluntary industry commitments. “This is a statement of principles that you’ll see, a statement of standards, commitments that are voluntary on behalf of the industry. It sets forth expectations,” Johnson said. “It’s, in short, summary, robust internal controls and layers of internal and external review.” After the summit, Zuckerberg posted on X calling the gathering a “positive step,” writing that leaders of major American labs had committed to robust internal controls and multiple layers of audits and reviews.
