The pilot reports ice and asks to climb. Seconds later comes a mayday. In a little over a minute the jet falls more than 26,000 feet and crashes beside South Military Trail near Greenacres. All nine people on board are killed. This is that flight, told from the released air traffic control radio, the Flightradar24 track and the NTSB's first briefing, and what is still not known. NTSB update, Monday 2 November 2026: maintenance records indicate a cockpit voice recorder was installed, but investigators do not yet know whether it was still on board. The NTSB also says it has "some evidence that there was some breakup of the aircraft before impact". The cause has not been determined. 0:00 Cold open 1:11 Austin to Eleuthera 2:32 Into the storm 3:54 Mayday 5:56 Military Trail 7:35 What may have happened 10:30 Where the evidence points 11:26 The nine 📄 Sources, photo credits and corrections: https://reconstructed.app/sources/learjet?m=desc Audio: LiveATC.net (Miami Center air traffic control, 1 November 2026). 3D model: "Bombardier Learjet 45" (https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/bombardier-learjet-45-0a47767ccd084aef98b1a0f9210c433e) by rammgraffic, CC BY 4.0, recoloured and animated.
