Water Main Work Prompts Road Closures Across Cities
Water-main breaks and repair work have prompted road closures and traffic disruptions in several communities. In Tampa, a northbound lane and sidewalk on North Habana Avenue are closed for emergency repairs, with work expected to wrap up Friday, weather permitting; Piqua has closed part of High Street for permanent repairs, with reopening anticipated by the end of the day. In Honolulu’s Kalihi neighborhood, all town-bound lanes on North School Street are closed as crews repair a broken main, and nearby customers may experience water-service interruptions; officials have not given a completion time. A scheduled water-main tie-in is also closing part of Proctor Street in Statesboro during weekday work hours, while a separate report notes a burst water main has shut St. Peters Road in Huntingdon.
