Whole Foods recalls cheese in seven states over undeclared egg protein

Whole Foods Market recalled Fromagerie Coop de Mean Cabricharme cheese sold in 18 stores across Arizona, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island because it contains undeclared egg lysozyme, an egg-white protein. The recall covers cut-and-wrapped cheese sold by the pound under Whole Foods scale labels, including products with best-by dates through October 7, 2026. Consumers with egg allergies or severe sensitivities could suffer a serious or life-threatening reaction, although no illnesses or allergic reactions had been reported. Shoppers should destroy the affected cheese and may obtain a full refund from the store with a receipt.
