Delhi High Court launches stray dog PIL

Delhi High Court has initiated a suo motu PIL to monitor adherence to Supreme Court directions on stray dog management, directing the Delhi government, MCD and the Centre to file a status report by July 31 detailing animal birth control, sterilization, anti-rabies vaccination, and shelter infrastructure amid concerns the problem is growing even inside court premises; the matter reflects a nationwide push to balance animal welfare with public safety as stray dog incidents rise and the next hearing is scheduled for early August.
