SC proposes special courts for Manipur violence trials

The Supreme Court of India proposed establishing special courts to conduct day-to-day trials for Manipur’s 2023 ethnic violence cases, while directing CBI and the state SIT to speed up investigations and provide charge sheets to victims within a week. It also ordered status updates, access to chargesheets for victims, and examination of 30 missing-person cases, with ongoing clashes having left over 200 dead and thousands displaced.
