Kusha LRSAM Maiden Test Completed Off Odisha
India’s DRDO successfully conducted the maiden flight test of the indigenous Kusha Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha, demonstrating its ability to intercept a range of aerial threats and marking a major step toward a self-reliant, multi-layered air-defence shield. The project features three interceptor variants with ranges around 150, 250, and up to 350-400 km, with deployment anticipated in coming years and aims to reduce import dependence while positioning India among nations with advanced long-range air-defense capabilities.
