Police bust RM27m World Cup gambling syndicate
Police dismantled a major online gambling syndicate operating through front computer companies and its own app, with a daily betting turnover of about RM27 million tied to World Cup and other bets, arresting 161 people across 19 premises in the Klang Valley during Ops Soga XI. The operation, part of a broader crackdown that has conducted 649 raids and led to 945 arrests, involved seized equipment and investigations into linked front companies and websites promoting gambling.
