Kano ready for state police, governor says

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf says Kano is fully prepared to establish a state police that will complement, not replace, the Nigeria Police and will be sustained once the necessary constitutional and legal frameworks are in place, emphasizing improved intelligence gathering, rapid response, and public confidence through closer collaboration between policing structures. He announced the readiness while inaugurating the Inter-Agencies Task Force on Drug Abuse and Trafficking and urged the task force to operate with professionalism and integrity as part of strengthening the state's security architecture.
