US lifts curbs on Mexican airlines’ US routes
The U.S. lifted restrictions blocking Mexican airlines from adding routes to the United States from Mexico City’s Benito Juárez and Felipe Ángeles airports, following steps by Mexico to address Washington’s concerns under a bilateral aviation agreement. Carriers may gain room to expand service, but they still face U.S. filing and approval requirements as Washington monitors Mexico’s compliance; new flights are not guaranteed to begin immediately.
