About Alexander Russell Simpson
Sir Alexander Russell Simpson FRCPE FRSE LLD was a Scottish physician and Professor of Midwifery at the University of Edinburgh. He invented the axis-traction forceps also known as obstetrics forceps which assisted in childbirth and reducing pain.
