Entergy Arkansas says Google will fund roughly $600 million in grid upgrades and new solar and battery resources to support its expanding West Memphis data center, with the projects expected online in 2028 pending regulatory approval. Entergy estimates the partnership will deliver at least $500 million in additional customer savings over 20 years, on top of $1.6 billion previously identified.
U.S. second-quarter 2026 GDP growth was revised up to a 2.2% annual rate from 1.5%, reflecting stronger consumer, investment and government spending, though it remained below the first quarter’s 2.5% pace. Arkansas grew 1.1%, ranking 34th among states and Washington, D.C., as gains in durable-goods manufacturing and wholesale trade partly offset declines in other sectors.

Eaton plans to invest over $242 million to build a 1 million-square-foot manufacturing facility in North Little Rock, creating about 1,200 jobs and doubling the company’s U.S. capacity for modular electrical enclosures from its Fibrebond business. The project, developed with local and state partners and following Eaton’s 2025 Fibrebond acquisition, will include hands-on training and career advancement opportunities for workers.
