About Friedrich August III of Saxony
Frederick Augustus III was King of Saxony from 1904 until his abdication in 1918. Born in Dresden, he was the eldest son of King George of Saxony and Maria Anna of Portugal. Like his father and grandfather, he was educated at Leipzig University.
