Five Scottish clubs in Europe postpone Premiership fixtures
All five Scottish clubs in European qualifiers have requested or been granted postponements of their Premiership fixtures on the weekend of August 22/23 to prioritise UEFA play-off ties, potentially leaving a single Dundee derby as the sole league match. The rearranged fixtures will occur in midweek windows (September 8/9 or 15/16), with the exact affected games depending on how far Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Hibs, and Motherwell progress in Europe.

Hearts, the oldest football club in the Scottish capital, was formed in 1874, its name influenced by Walter Scott's novel The Heart of Midlothian (1818). Their local rivals are Hibernian, with whom they contest the Edinburgh derby. The club has been majority supporter-owned through Foundation of Hearts since 2021.
