Hyundai is recalling about 5,360 2026 Ioniq 9s with Limited, Calligraphy and Calligraphy Design trims because the second-row power-folding seats may fail to detect passengers or objects, potentially continuing to move and risking injury; Hyundai has issued an over-the-air software fix and urged caution until repairs are completed. Separately in the US, a recall of 61,093 Palisade and Palisade Hybrid SUVs linked to a fatal injury involves the same seat-detection defect, with the anti-pinch system failing to stop seat movement, and the recall covers North America with additional actions in other regions.
