Islanders’ Heineman Ejected After Hit Injures Oilers’ Howard
Islanders forward Emil Heineman was ejected early in Saturday’s 4-0 loss to Edmonton after a knee-on-knee hit on Oilers rookie Isaac Howard drew a five-minute major and game misconduct. Howard left unable to put weight on his leg, though Edmonton’s coach said the injury appeared less serious than it first looked; further discipline for Heineman remained uncertain.
