Pennsylvania Enacts Statewide Bell-to-Bell School Phone Ban

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro signed a bipartisan law requiring schools to prohibit student cellphone use throughout the school day starting in the 2027–28 school year. Schools will set their own policies, with exceptions for certain medical, learning and other needs; supporters say the ban will reduce distractions and help students focus.
