Turek's Transgender Care Ad Draws Bipartisan Criticism
Iowa Democratic Senate candidate Josh Turek’s ad opposes transgender women competing in women’s sports and taxpayer-funded gender-affirming care, prompting criticism from LGBTQ+ advocates, including a Democratic colleague, who say it risks harming transgender people and distracts from cost-of-living issues. Republican opponent Ashley Hinson’s campaign also attacked the ad, accusing Turek of misrepresenting his record; Turek says he wants to focus on lowering costs.
