About Lucifer
Lucifer was the Roman name for the morning star: i.e., the planet Venus. In Christian mythology, the name Lucifer has become an epithet for the Devil and the fallen angel mentioned in Revelation 12. Thus, the name is connected to the deadly sin of pride for the Devil's attempt to overthrow God, after which he was banished to Earth.
