ABC reporter Will Murray and another bystander swam into floodwaters north of Brisbane to rescue a driver from his sinking four-wheel-drive as heavy rain inundated southeast Queensland. Flooding also submerged a Moreton Bay homeless camp, prompting calls for safe, dry emergency shelter for residents.
