Lamont Announces $12.7M Heating Aid
Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont is releasing $12.7 million in state aid to supplement heating assistance for low-income households as rising oil prices, linked in the reports to the war with Iran, drive up winter bills. The state expects to serve about 94,000 households, while its congressional delegation says more than $75 million in federal LIHEAP funding has been secured; Republican leaders urged officials to ensure the aid reaches eligible families promptly.
