About Philadelphia Warriors
The Golden State Warriors were founded as the Philadelphia Warriors in Philadelphia in 1946. In 1962, the franchise moved to San Francisco, California, and became known as the San Francisco Warriors. In 1971, the team was renamed Golden State Warriors. The team has won seven championships: the first in its inaugural 1946–47 season, another in Philadelphia in 1955–56, and five more as Golden State in the 1974–75, 2014–15, 2016–17, 2017–18 and 2021–22 seasons.
