About Speaker of the Parliament of Syria
The Speaker of the People's Assembly is the presiding officer of the People's Assembly, the unicameral legislature of Syria. The current Speaker of the People’s Assembly is Abdul Hamid al-Awak, a member of the Assembly since 1 July 2026 following his election by the People's Assembly.
