ST Launches Lower-Cost In-Cabin Image Sensor
STMicroelectronics unveiled the ST SafeSense VD56GA, a 1.1 MP automotive image sensor for infrared in-cabin sensing designed to scale driver and occupant monitoring across vehicle lines while reducing module costs. The sensor delivers 35% higher MTF sharpness and nearly 60% higher infrared sensitivity, includes embedded image processing, and leverages front-end manufacturing in Crolles to boost supply-chain resilience and simplify camera integration.
