About Suppiluliuma II
Šuppiluliuma II, the son of Tudḫaliya IV, was the last certain great king of the New Kingdom of the Hittite Empire, contemporary with Tukulti-Ninurta I of the Middle Assyrian Empire. A fleet under his command defeated the Cypriots, this event is also the first naval battle recorded in history. His reign began around 1207 BC and ended in c. 1190.
