Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s visit to China and co-chairing of a bilateral parliamentary committee meeting were hailed by Vietnam’s foreign minister as strengthening political trust and advancing cooperation. Separately, a survey found many young Vietnamese favor closer trade, education and entrepreneurship ties with China, and see youth exchanges as a way to build relations.
Pandora has opened a $150 million factory in Vietnam, its first production site outside Thailand, aiming to increase manufacturing capacity by about 50% and diversify its supply chain as it pursues growth in Asia. The company sees opportunities in Japan and a possible China recovery, while expanding its focus on more affordable, lower-emissions lab-grown diamonds.
Vietnam and North Korea agreed to deepen defense cooperation after reporting progress in exchanges, political work, education and training, and called for implementing a cooperation agreement signed in 2025. The talks build on broader efforts to strengthen ties between the longtime allies.
