Fresnillo Maintains 2026 Production Guidance
Fresnillo reported solid Q2 2026 operating performance with attributable silver production of 10.9 million ounces, down 1.7% quarter-on-quarter and 12.6% year-on-year due to lower ore grades and the end of the Silverstream, while gold output rose 13.8% quarter-on-quarter to 154,812 ounces, though still 1.9% lower than a year earlier. Lead and zinc production diverged in the quarter, rising 15.1% to 17,438 tonnes and dipping 2.6% to 27,672 tonnes, respectively, as the company navigates ore variability and grade fluctuations across its mines. Fresnillo reaffirmed its 2026 production guidance for silver, gold, lead, and zinc, underscoring confidence in its diversified production profile and ongoing improvements, despite near-term technical and grade challenges. The company also noted leadership changes in its Central Region and emphasized safety and disciplined execution to sustain production and cost efficiency, with interim arrangements in place for regional operations. First-half results mirrored the quarterly trend, with silver down 11.4% to 22.0 million ounces and gold down 7.3% to 290,885 ounces, while base metals improved, reinforcing the overall outlook as it maintains its 2026-2028 targets.
