The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority announced that the National Aircraft Registry has surpassed 1,000 registered aircraft, with No. 1,001 marking a new national milestone. More than 55% of these planes are operated by Emirati carriers such as Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Air Arabia, underscoring the strength of the country’s air transport sector. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, the Director General of the GCAA, described reaching 1,000 aircraft as a sign of growing regulatory confidence and the UAE’s ability to support sustainable growth and international competitiveness. Aqeel Al Zarooni, Assistant Director General for Aviation Safety Affairs, highlighted the maturity, efficiency and international credibility of the UAE’s registration system, which operates in line with global standards and provides streamlined and transparent services. Authorities also emphasized ongoing digital registration enhancements, regulatory updates, and risk-based oversight to maintain safety and adaptability as the sector grows, reflecting the long-term vision of UAE leadership. This milestone cements the UAE’s position as a premier civil aviation hub regionally and internationally, showcasing continued growth and global connectivity.
