Dolphins Place Chris Bell on NFI at Camp Start
Miami Dolphins rookie receiver Chris Bell has been placed on the active/non-football injury list and will miss on-field work at the start of training camp while he continues ACL rehab. Because the injury occurred in college, he is on the NFI list rather than PUP, and he will count against the 91-man roster during the summer. The timeline remains uncertain, with eight months having passed since the injury, and Bell had hoped to be ready for camp but has yet to receive medical clearance. When healthy, Bell could compete for a significant role in the receiver corps that now includes Caleb Douglas, Kevin Coleman Jr., Malik Washington, Jalen Tolbert, and Tutu Atwell. Bell was a productive final-season Louisville receiver with 72 catches for 917 yards and three touchdowns, including a standout game against Miami in 2024, and the club has time to evaluate his fit as the WR depth chart evolves. The Dolphins traded away Jaylen Waddle in the offseason, and the team is reshaping its receiving corps around new and developing players.
