Bears Agree to Acquire Jeffery Simmons in Trade
The Chicago Bears agreed to acquire four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Tennessee Titans in exchange for 2027 and 2028 first-round picks and a 2027 fourth-round pick; Chicago will also receive a 2028 fifth-round pick, and the deal is subject to Simmons passing a physical. Simmons, 29, had 46.5 career sacks and four sacks and 38 tackles through seven games this season. He is expected to strengthen Chicago’s interior pass rush alongside Montez Sweat and Grady Jarrett as the 5-2 Bears pursue a playoff and Super Bowl run. The 1-6 Titans are rebuilding, and general manager Mike Borgonzi said Simmons did not want to leave and was surprised by the trade.
