Eight Drivers Compete in National Driving Championship
The 2026 National Driving Championship weekend at Clinton Raceway in Ontario is highlighted by two key events: the Driver Showcase on Saturday evening, featuring eight drivers in one-on-one interviews and behind-the-scenes access as fans meet the contenders for the national title on Sunday, July 26. The winner of the NDC will earn the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2027 World Driving Championship, with complete weekend coverage to follow on Standardbred Canada. In conjunction with the main event, Clinton Raceway will host the inaugural Junior National Driving Championship on Saturday, bringing together young drivers from across Canada to compete in a series of miniature horse races that culminate in a Championship Final and awards presentation. The Junior Championship aims to showcase youth participation and the sport’s future talent on a national stage, with a morning schedule including heats, a Consolation Final, and the Final before the weekend’s main events. Both events will be broadcast for fans to follow live as part of Canada’s premier harness racing weekend. The weekend’s program underscores growth at Clinton Raceway and Standardbred Canada’s commitment to presenting nationwide racing championships and developing the next generation of drivers.
