Caleb Flynn Murder Trial Underway in Ohio
Opening statements and early testimony are underway in Tipp City, Ohio, in the trial of former “American Idol” contestant and music pastor Caleb Flynn, who is accused of killing his wife, Ashley Flynn, and staging the scene to resemble a home invasion while their two daughters were nearby. A jury of 12 and four alternates was seated, and Flynn faces charges including aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, evidence tampering and witness intimidation. Prosecutors presented Flynn’s emotional 911 call, police body-camera footage and testimony from investigators, including an FBI agent who canvassed about 80 homes and a K-9 handler whose dog found no clear trail from the property. The defense acknowledged Flynn’s affair but argued that marital misconduct does not prove guilt and criticized the investigation as rushed and flawed. The jury visited the crime scene, and proceedings adjourned until Monday after seven prosecution witnesses testified.
